Born in Toronto, Ontario, Peter J. Terbenche is a lifelong historian and performer with devotion of all things Canadiana. Moving out west as a youngster (and currently still residing in Cowtown) a passion for music and the theatre led to a long career in amateur performing, stage-writing and a couple of stints as a musical director for acapella choral groups.
Yet coupled with this was a voracious appetite for books, notably those with a Canadian perspective. Pierre Berton, Farley Mowat and Alice Munro are among those responsible for influencing and igniting his writing direction.
Fascinated with folklore and possessing a never-ending passion for the ghost stories and legends of old, he has now turned this near obsession into a series of stories focused on Ward Manor in the fictional town of Brookeford, in southwestern Ontario. Vivid characters and alluring scenic depictions abound, drawing you into a captivating world of ghosts and misdirection guaranteed to have you on the edge of your seat.
Olly Olly Oxen Free is the first book in the series but falls squarely in the middle of the Alice storyline. So rest assured, there’s more to come!
